The Awesomeness of Jesus Christ (Wanting to count with us, “ earthen vassals” 2 Corinthians 4; 7-9 in the work of The New Evangelization)

Herod’s Opinion of Jesus.
Herod the tetrarch heard about all that was happening, and he was greatly perplexed because some were saying, “John has been raised from the dead”; others were saying, “Elijah has appeared”; still others, “One of the ancient prophets has arisen.” But Herod said, “John I beheaded. Who then is this about whom I hear such things?” And he kept trying to see him. (Luke 9; 7-9)
In the gospel we see people having encounters with Jesus. Herod was one of the ones who wanted to see Jesus. The Gospel of Luke is one of the only gospels that tell about this encounter. The sad thing is that according to what we know, nothing great happened, no change of heart or conversion occurred in this encounter with Jesus. He expected a magician, not a savior. “Not grace, but tricks”
What is the lesson for us to learn:

Not all the ones that want to see The Lord, experience an amazing change in their hearts. We need the right attitude to recognize Him and what He wants to offer

A good question for us is this:

How many people will really rejoice with The presence of The Lord? Herod had: Jesus, The Light of The world and remained in darkness; He had the Divine Physician with Him and remained sick.

·     Jesus is not:

-Another kind of Entertainment
-A "god" to be used as an excuse for our political party agenda
-A puppet for our own desires

·     Our Encounter with Jesus should and must find us with:

- Eyes ready to see Him
- With attentive ears
-Remember, He is The Divine Physician. He wants to find in us a
Heart opened to what He wants to heal, cauterize, cut, etc.
-You, my brothers, need to be ready to surrender all have you and are
  to Him.

Brothers, Christ is being used today for intellectual entertainment, ideological manipulations and political agendas even in our parishes...

Jesus didn't become Incarnate to be controlled by us, but to accept our offering and self-giving sacrifice as men of God in our families, communities and parishes.

This world doesn't just need good men... you are already good. This complicated world needs Men of God, men of the Tabernacle, men of Heroic Virtues... They need you!

The Holy Spirit is here. He wants to free us from any fear, as He freed the apostles at Pentecost from the fear of the Roman Empire. Lets show the world today MEN OF GOD, that WE are HIS apostles. Lets show everyone what we are capable of. Through the frequent and devout reception of the Sacraments and a strong and committed prayer, lets show the whole world what we are made of!
